Musang
architectural woodcraft
rooted in nature, focused on quality
Founded by Bernardo Schuhmacher and Sangha Jung in 2025, the studio works across architectural millwork, built environments, furniture, and material exploration, creating spaces and objects that feel timeless, grounded, and quietly modern built with exceeding care and attention to detail.
MUSANG takes its name from the Korean word “무상 (無常),” meaning impermanence. This idea shapes the way the studio approaches design and fabrication: wood, stone, and other materials are not static, but living elements with their own warmth, grain, texture, and history. Rather than concealing or overworking these qualities, ATELIER MUSANG highlights them through restrained, thoughtful forms excecuted with unparalleled precision.
“honest materials, minimal forms,
and a balance between nature
and modernity”
Atelier Musang’s mission is to create timeless environments
and objects that bring calm, stillness, and awareness into everyday life with a level of unparalleled precision and quality.
MUSANG is about embracing impermanence through material honesty. Simplicity, calmness, and authenticity are central to ethos of Musang.
“Materials have their own life, memory, and character. Design should come from listening to and respecting their natural qualities rather than forcing them into artificial forms.”
We work primarily with architects and contractors to give form to extraordinary ideas for exceptional spaces and functional objects at the highest level. Our focus is on uncompromising attention to detail and quality that lasts, developing character and patina through the relationships with their owners.
We create our own objects as well that embody our ethos. Our furniture is available for purchase, made to order and tailored specifically for each client’s specific needs. Connect with us to learn more.
